QUICK AND EASY TREATS FOR CHRISTMAS – BLOGMAS: DAY 8

Sugary treats are the unwritten rule of the Holiday season. We crave for all the sweet, chocolatey, sugary goodness we can find. But let’s admit it, we’re not willing to spend a lot of money or time on these sugary goodnesses. So, here are a few quick and easy treats.

CHOCOLATE AND PEANUT BUTTER BARK  (Vegan)

Ingredients:

  • Dark Chocolate – 100g
  • Peanut Butter – 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut Oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Peanuts – 2-3 handfuls
  • Sugar or Honey – 1 tablespoon

Melt coconut oil, peanut butter, and dark chocolate in a double boiler. Turn off the heat, and add in the sugar and peanuts. Give it a good mix. Grease a tray and/or line it with parchment paper. Pour the mixture, and let it refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Note: You can also add crushed biscuits if you like. If you’re vegan, you can opt for vegan biscuits.

MARSHMALLOW POPCORN

Ingredients:

  • Marshmallow – 150 grams
  • White Chocolate – 75 grams
  • Popcorn – 150 grams
  • Butter – 1 tablespoon
  • Water – 2 tablespoon

Add your marshmallows, white chocolate, water, and butter in a double boiler and let it melt. Meanwhile, pop your popcorns if they’re yet to pop. Mix the marshmallow mixture and popcorn together. Line a tray with parchment paper, pour the mixture and let it set for an hour or so.

CARAMEL POPCORN

Ingredients:

  • Brown Sugar – 1 packed cup
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Butter – 4 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Vanilla Extract – 1 teaspoon (Optional)
  • Popcorn – 150 grams
  • Skittles/M&Ms/Gems

Add the butter, sugar, milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Now, add the cinnamon powder, salt, vanilla, and let cook on medium-low heat until thickened. Let it cool, and add your popcorn, and skittles to the mixture. Line a tray with parchment paper, pour your popcorn mixture and let it set for 30 minutes or so.
